Driver & In-Shop Functions
- Maintain an open, friendly service oriented demeanor
- Answer phones within 3 rings with a friendly and brisk greeting
- Take in-shop and drive-thru customer orders and enter into the point-of-sale system
- Accurately take orders on the phone for deliveries and pickups, always reading the order back to the customer and enter into the point-of-sale system
- Take and input information for credit card payments
- Make and announce sandwich orders:
- Bread slicing and mayo measurement/spreading
- Meat and cheese pulling and sandwich assembly
- Sandwich wrapping
- Pickle cutting and wrapping
- Assemble and bag delivery and pickup orders
- Receive/listen to customer issues/errors and work to resolve
- Restock the make lines
- Read punchlist and perform preparation and cleaning procedures
- Stretch dough, proof dough, bake bread, and consolidate bread loaves
- Assist with ingredient deliveries boxes up to 50 pounds
- Use the online schedule management system
- Perform other duties as assigned*
- DRIVER - When not on deliveries, serve as an in-shop sandwich maker and customer service person
- DRIVER - Determine the route to the customer delivery
- DRIVER - Move quickly to and from delivery vehicle when doing deliveries
- DRIVER - Drive safely and efficiently to the delivery location
- DRIVER - Collect cash payments and return to the shop
Education and Work Experience
- No previous work experience required
- High school diploma, equivalency, or better preferred
- High school students welcome to apply, too - 16 years of age or older
- Drivers must be at least 18 years of age
Knowledge & Skill, and Ability
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in English
- Ability to conduct and navigate a motor vehicle – maintain a Class C license or higher
- Ability to perform manual sandwich-making tasks
- Ability to work with urgency and speed
- Ability to learn skills from and take direction from shift managers
Physical Demands
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds,
- Carry deliveries of up to 20 lbs on a regular basis
- Carry and stow boxes of up to 50lbs. Truck deliveries are 4-6 days/week
- Exchange information in person and over the telephone
- Read cash register screen
- Have the mobility to move about quickly in a typical fast food restaurant environment
Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is often loud
- Direction of work and work coordination are done in voices raised over the music/noise level of the restaurant
- Deliveries are performed over public roads, some private drives, and parking lots
- The environment is fast paced and intense
- Work occasional holidays, nights, and/or weekends when workload dictates need.
